Decision Date for Mack

Mack Sets Date For College Decision

Wesleyan HS (Ga) Ath Charles Mack has been taking visits and attending camps all spring and summer and it looks like he has an idea on when and where he would like to end his college recruitment.

“I am going to make my decision on August 17th,” said Mack. “That is my grandmothers birthday and the day of our opening game so I will all my friends and family in attendance. I thought it looked like a good setting to make my college commitment.”

Mack is an undervalued recruit who has yet to see the big schools come through with offers but is trying to remain patient throughout the next month waiting to see if any new programs become interested. He currently holds offers from South Florida, Navy, Buffalo, Richmond and Furman but is receiving interest from others.

Mack has stayed in contact with several BCS level programs for a while now but for some reason has yet to receive those offers. He remains in contact with those programs today and believes something could happen before his decision date.

“I still talk to coaches from Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, N.C.St, Duke, Wake Forest, Maryland and others all the time and they all still seem very interested,” said Mack. “I have no idea if anything will happen with them or not but I am cool with the current offers I have.”

“I like all the schools that have offered me and I have visited several of them already. I just recently visited Navy and Richmond and I really enjoyed both trips. It was my second time to see Navy and I am very interested in what they have to offer. Richmond was a great visit too. They have a good program with good academics so I think that could be a good fit.”

The date to make a commitment may be set but who the decision will go to is not quite set in stone. Mack is still sorting through his thoughts and remaining open to new schools who may peak his interest.

“I don’t have any leaders or favorites right now so I am still openminded to whoever,” said Mack. “I have good thoughts about all my offers and I have some non-offered schools that I really like as well.”

“I still have enough time to go through all the information on the teams recruiting me and come up with the best choice for me. My recruitment has been fun but it will feel good when it is over so I can focus on my senior season of football and my academics.”

Offers: Buffalo, Furman, Navy, Richmond and South Florida. Others Interested: Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina St, Rice, Tennessee, Tulsa, UCF, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
