Desoto Player - B (Tween) A Rock and a Hard Place

Tweener (football) -sometimes used derisively, for a player who is able to play two positions, but is not ideally suited to play either position exclusively."

This word is derived from the word "between", as in a player is between the height of a defensive end and an outside linebacker.”Tweeners" often have the skills of a big man, but the height of a skill player.

Denzel Murphy DE Desoto High School is a “tweener”, but between what? He stands 5’10 and weighs 200lbs, but runs and impressive 4.62 in the 40 yard dash, and showed our 5 Star trainers some impressive ground work.

He positioned himself amongst the trees in drills and without a doubt held his own in 1-on1’s, and walked away with Defensive line MVP because of his ability to use not only speed, but skill!  “Speed kills”, Keith Washington our Super Bowl Champion DL 5 Star trainer stated, but at the DL position size and speed sales”.

We will keep our eye out for this young and up and coming star.
