The 2011 spring 7-on-7 season kicked off for several area high schools this Wednesday... Gopher/Warrior Bowl in Grand Prairie TX was the perfect site for area schools such as Summitt, Bowie, MacArthur, Nimitz, Lamar, Grand Prairie and Irving to meet in the middle to showcase some the area’s best talent. There was several big names on the field like Arlington Bowie QB Kolby Listenbee Class 2012 who has received several offers this Spring which includes #2 Ranked TCU, also Bowie RB Russell Hansbrough Class of 2012 who is being courted in and outside of our great state by schools such as Auburn University, Iowa State and TCU.

The most impressive athlete on the field was Summitt High Schools 2012 Class LB Micah Awe (Video). The 5'11' 210 Awe showed tremendous speed and cover ability. He handed us a tremendous video filled with ferocious hits and forced fumbles. After you see him work, his best position at the next level is probably an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense.
Another notable prospect was Arlington Lamar Class of 2014 wide receiver Andra Lemmons-Hicks (6-2 ¼, 165), who Coaches say ran a 4.56 in his 40. Andra needs work on running routes, but he catches the ball with his hands very cleanly. He caught tough balls in traffic, and showed toughness towards the end after landing on his hip after a circus catch on the sideline, and a few plays later he caught a game ending touchdown in the endzone while splitting two defenders.
