2009 Kentucky Hoops Season Gets Under way!

The opening game of the two-day event makes for an interesting matchup. These teams come into this year with several unknowns after losing multiple starters off last year's playoff teams to graduation. The inexperienced Bombers will rely heavily on F/C Erik Stenger, who is the only player returning with significant varsity experience. Mason County, on the other hand, will be led by do-it-all guard Russ Middleton, who gives the Royals size and versatility at 6-foot-3. St. Xavier is going to slow this game down and try to win by playing great defense and keeping the score in the 40's.
